On Friday, the State Department released emails sent by Huma Abedin, Hillary Clinton’s top aid. These emails were discovered by the FBI on a laptop owned by Abedin’s estranged husband Anthony Weiner during an inquest into Weiner’s legal case.
Four of the newly released emails were marked ‘classified.’ Apparently, Abedin would forward Clinton’s email to Weiner so that he could print it out so she could give it to Clinton.
James Comey, director of FBI in 2016 had said Clinton was ‘extremely careless’ in handling the classified email.
Judicial Watch, a conservative group filed a lawsuit against the State Department for all official emails sent or received by Abedin, especially to or from a non-state.gov email.
“This is a major victory,” Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch said on Friday. “After years of hard work in federal court, Judicial Watch has forced the State Department to finally allow Americans to see these public documents… That these government docs were on Anthony Weiner’s laptop dramatically illustrates the need for the Justice Department to finally do a serious investigation of Hillary Clinton’s and Huma Abedin’s obvious violations of law.”
“Crooked Hillary Clinton’s top aide, Huma Abedin, has been accused of disregarding basic security protocols. She put Classified Passwords into the hands of foreign agents. Remember sailors pictures on the submarine? Jail!” Trump tweeted early Tuesday. “Deep State Justice Dept must finally act? Also on Comey & others.”
