Democrats nationwide are celebrating their third win against Donald Trump. Last night, Alabama voters voted in a Democratic senator for the first time in over twenty-five years.
Currently, the Republicans have a narrow majority in the senate with a 52/49 lead. Jones win last night makes it an even tighter squeeze. Many Leading Republicans are hoping that Jones will recognize that the majority of voters in Alabam are Republican (62%), and that he will align with the Republicans, however it looks like it may be a hard sell and he will vote Democratic.
Democrats are hopeful that this win is the beginning of good tiding for them heading into the midterm elections next year. They are also optimistic that with a narrow Republican majority, Trump will have a harder time pushing through his agenda, particularly the $1.5 trillion tax package.
